Welcome to the Sound Waves Community Choir Website

Sound Waves is a large friendly community choir based in Hastings and open to all. If you can sing in the shower, you can sing with us. We usually sing a cappella (without accompaniment) with a repertoire that ranges from folk song to opera, gospel, jazz, rock and pop. We generally meet and rehearse on Tuesday evenings in the Salvation Army Hall, St Andrew’s Square, TN34 1SP, in central Hastings [CLICK HERE FOR MAP]. Our musical director Debbie Warren leads most rehearsals and performances, but we also invite guest MDs to run workshops in their particular genre of music. We enjoy singing at local events and make regular donations to local charities. Click here to watch some of our recent performances on YouTube. Liane Carroll workshop

We are delighted to announce that the brilliant Hastings singer Liane Carroll will be teaching a one-day jazz singing workshop for Sound Waves on Saturday March 16th.
Liane is an internationally-renowned performer with a unique voice, an unforgettable keyboard style, and a mischievous sense of humour. She’s a Ronnie Scott’s regular, and is best known locally for packing in enthusiastic Wednesday-night crowds at Porters in the Old Town. If you have sung with Liane before at Sound Waves, you’ll know this is an opportunity not to be missed.
The workshop starts at 10.45am, and runs through to 4pm with breaks for morning coffee and afternoon tea (provided), and for lunch. The venue is the Salvation Army Hall, St Andrew's Square, Hastings, TN34 1SR.
The cost for Sound Waves regulars is £25; you can book now by registering and paying on our events page. Others pay £30 and can book by sending an email to workshops@soundwaveschoir.org.uk. You will receive a reply explaining how to pay.

We will be holding our annual general meeting on Friday April 26th. This is an opportunity for all choir members to have a say in our plans for the coming year, and to celebrate our achievements in the year that's past. But it's also a great social event, with a meal to share after the official business. Watch this space for more news.

You can read more about us on the More News and the Charities pages.
